Dr Ruth Watson is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and has offered psychological services at the Brookdale Clinic since 2008.
She currently works part-time as a Clinical Psychologist within NHS Older Adult Secondary Care Mental Health services and enjoys working with a variety of presenting difficulties including depression, anxiety, chronic pain, dementia, PTSD and behaviour that challenges.
Ruth provides individual therapeutic packages for clients, in addition to neuropsychological assessments and consultation to health professionals and carers. She offers a range of therapeutic approaches including CBT, EMDR, Cognitive-analytic, Systemic and Behavioural elements.
Ruth frequently provides training packages to other health professionals, and regularly teaches on the Manchester University Clinical Psychology doctorate course. She has an interest in cognitive-analytic models of therapy and working with trauma. Ruth also enjoys working with Dementia UK as a clinical supervisor for specialist Admiral Nurses.
She is recognised by health insurers and is available to treat a number of issues here in the clinic.
